Preparing our Students for the 21st Century
Kindness is definitely a direction we need to take as we celebrate
#Five Days of Kindness Week
Surprise others by performing random acts of kindness. Go out of your way to do something surprisingly kind and generous for someone.
In our daily lives we get so busy and preoccupied that there isn’t much time to sit down and think up a surprise for someone. The best time to give someone a nice surprise is when it isn’t expected. That way, the person knows you didn’t do it because of obligation, you did it because you wanted to. The types of surprises I’m talking about are more than just getting someone a gift. These surprises need to be more thought-out and meaningful. For example, take the time to make a lunch or place flowers on the table. Kids can clean their entire room, vacuum the house, or do the dishes without being asked to.
Here is a great video to share one of these mornings:

Dr. Seuss's Birthday - Read Across America
Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2—Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books, and you can too!
We welcome volunteers to come to the school and read one of their favorite Dr. Seuss books to our students on this day. Please feel free to invite a friend, family member, or a parent to share a book with your class. Please let Ms.Wilkerson or Ms. Davidson know if you have a volunteer available.
