Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you again for sharing your wonderful children with us this week!
We have had another happy and full week of learning and fun at Balladen. You can always see what has been happening in many of our classrooms and around our school by looking at our Twitter feed. You can access it by clicking here.
This week our Year 5 children participated in play leader training. This is a great opportunity for them to show and develop leadership skills in and around our school. They will be learning how to set up games for our younger children and then playing with them in the playground. We are really looking forward to our Year 5 children taking more responsibility in school.
On Tuesday after school all of our teachers and many of our Teaching Assistants participated in an after school professional development session on Attachment Training with Andrew Byrne from Trafford. This was an informative session and has led to many professional conversations around our school. Andrew was very impressed with what is already happening at Balladen to support the emotional welfare of our incredible children.
Thursday was an incredibly busy day with children going to Fearns to take part in sports sessions, our boys football team travelling to Blackburn Rovers to take part in a tournament and netball and gymnastic coaching here at school. We are hoping that the boys who took part in the tournament will share some of their experiences with us very soon.
I have had the privilege of formally observing many of the teachers this week as part of our effort to continually improve the daily learning experiences of our children. I saw some incredible learning and teaching taking place. It is a privilege to work and learn with such committed professionals. The effort that the team at Balladen put in each and every day is plain to see when you walk around our school and visit each classroom. It is also obvious to see that the children are at the heart of everything that we do. Thank you to all of my colleagues who make each day one full of learning and smiles. Thank you!
There is something very exciting happening next week...Young Voices 2017! Our choir will be joining hundreds of other children at Manchester Arena on Wednesday 1st February. This is the first time that we have taken part in such a wonderful event. Thank you so much to Mrs Pickup and Miss Sutcliffe for all of their hard work with the choir and to Mrs Peat for helping to organise getting there and back! We look forward to seeing some photos and hearing some of the songs again very soon! Good luck to our choir on Wednesday!
Have a wonderful weekend. I look forward to seeing all of those Monday smiles!
With respect,
Mr Neil Ringrose
