May...
Wow...it is May already! This is the end of our fourth week of remote learning but the end of our eighth week since we have been together in the classroom. I have to confess I cried this morning. The teachers in the city I live in had a parade through the streets complete with police and firetruck sirens. The cars were decked out in signs with well wishes but mostly "I miss you" signs. I completely lost it! Being away from the classroom has taken a toll but we will carry on! I hope you all are doing well and finding joy in the little things!
Please continue to monitor your student's grades and work. A "P" is a passing grade and work was completed successfully. The "I" is work that was turned in but needs attention and correction before being accepted. The "NS" is for not submitted and is either Missing or not accepted. If this is the case, it is the student's responsibility to check the work, review comments, fix errors, resubmit, and email the teacher that the work was corrected or turned in!
Part of this experience is being flexible. We certainly are trying to be accommodating as possible to all the unique circumstances that we are being faced with. We want everyone to know that we will be accepting late work for up to TWO weeks after the initial due date. If there are extenuating circumstances, each teacher will need to be contacted for further consideration.
We are hopeful that this process is becoming easier for students as they navigate each subject, understand what teachers are requiring, and make a schedule to complete the work.
And finally, if you need anything at all, please reach out to us. We are here to support you.
