Cooperative Learning Tip of the Week
Cooperative learning groups/station rotations should be used to reinforce ideas or practice skills that have been previously taught by the teacher. Don't try to introduce new topics in small groups. Without previous knowledge, the students may not understand what and why they are doing the activities. It is very appropriate to start an activity with whole group lesson, before breaking into small groups or station rotations.
