Roadrunner Report
August 27, 2021
Hi Aspen Families!
Our Roadrunners have had a wonderful first few days of school! There has already been so much learning, reconnecting, and community building going on here at Aspen. Here are a few updates and reminders:
Morning Drop Off
The Kindergarten gate will now open at 8:05 a.m. to help alleviate congestion outside the front of school in the morning.
Starting this Monday, we encourage all parents to say good bye to your child at the gate to reduce the amount of people on campus. Students can use the hand sanitizer/hand wash stations and then will line up outside their classroom until school starts.
Show Your Roadrunner Spirit!
Please remember to wear your Aspen Spirit Wear every Friday to show your school spirit!
If you are interested in purchasing Spirit Wear for your student(s), please email aspenstudentstore@gmail.com for more information.
1:1 Chromebook Inspection and Exchange
CVUSD has moved to a 1:1 Chromebook device initiative. Therefore we are requesting that all our returning Roadrunners bring in their Chromebooks and charging cables for inspection and exchange (if required by our Site Tech Specialist). At this time, students in grades TK-2 will be issued a Chromebook that will remain in the classroom. Students in grades 3-5 will be expected to take their Chromebook home and bring it back to school each day. All parents will need to complete the CVUSD Chromebook loan agreement confirming the continued use of the CVUSD Chromebook. The form along with information on insurance and opting out to bring your own device can be found here. Please have your child bring their signed forms along with their Chromebook and charging cord to school on Tuesday, August 24th.
Interested in Being a Campus Safety Assistant?
We are still looking for any interested adults to work morning or afternoon shifts to cover our recess, lunch, and afternoon recess shifts. Please contact Stacey Coombe, our Office Manager, if you are interested in this opportunity!
Voluntary Student Accident Insurance Information
CVUSD continues to offer Voluntary Student Accident Insurance provided by Myers-Stevens & Toohey for the 2021-22 school year. Offered voluntary participation plans are a low-cost way for parents to provide protection for their children. They can be used on a standalone basis for those with no other health coverage or as “gap coverage” to assist with the high deductibles, high co-pays and other inside limits common to many of today’s health plans. Additionally, they offer complete freedom of choice of provider. More information can be found here.
