FRAUD
Identity theft, thievery, and lies all in one
What is it?
Fraud is intentional duplicity done for a criminal's own rewards, typically money, though it can extend to identity theft.
Where is it?
Fraud can be found in many forms, but it does one of two things: offers a deal that you know is too good to be true or by a fake email asking for personal information.
How can I avoid it?
Double-check! Make sure that the websites you're on are legitimate and safe.
Common sense! If a deal sounds too good to be true, chances are it is. Better safe than sorry.
Do not reply! They are sending out emails to random addresses; to reply confirms to them that you are active. Your actual bank account would never send you anything like that – they already have all the information they need.
