Student RecordingsStudents will record for fluency once they begin to encounter beginning books. The recording activities start with beginning books lessons (kindergarten) through leveled books (2nd grade and up). | Read and Record (Beginning in Kindergarten literacy content.)Read and Record captures students’ fluency which is an important component of reading. Students begin by echo reading with a fluent model. They record each page, evaluate their reading, and decide whether to record again. *The scaffold of a fluent model to echo is withdrawn as students show progress in the program. | Fluent Reader (Beginning in Kindergarten literacy content.)Fluent Reader requires students to read without any model for one minute. This activity is an additional check of their fluency. |

Student Writings Students will be asked to write sentences with vocabualry words and short repsonse to texts. The writing activities are part of the leveled book lessons (2nd grade and up). | Vocrab Island Vocrab Island is an interactive reading vocabulary activity that prepares students to read an authentic text. Part of the activity requires students to write a sentence with the word they encountered. | Application StationApplication Station requires students to respond to a comprehension question in writing. |
