Ekstrand Student Flu Vaccines

You must sign the consent form online for your student to receive a flu vaccine at the link below.

Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences

Please be on the lookout in your email or Seesaw for the link to sign up for a time slot for parent teacher conferences. We are highly encouraging families sign-up up for one time slot per student. All conferences will be held via Zoom or telephone this fall. If you are interested in talking with your child's specials teachers please email them directly to set up a time. If your child is receiving additional reading support our reading teachers will be working with the homeroom teachers on making themselves available to discuss your child's progress.

Halloween Update

This year we will not be holding our annual Halloween Parade at Ekstrand or having students wear costumes while in school due to the current safety precautions we have in place.

Winter Music Program

We wanted to inform all parents that we will be canceling the Winter Fine Arts Program for Ekstrand. We will continue to keep everyone informed regarding the status of our Spring Fine Arts Program.

During the month of October students will be training on our ALICE procedures. ALICE refers to the procedures we follow, should there ever be an intruder in our building. ALICE stands for: Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate.

Our training begins as I read the story, I’m Not Scared, I’m Prepared..Because I Know All About ALICE. The book is written by Julia Cook.
It will be followed up by a visit from myself and Officer Witt (our School Resource Officer). The book and the follow up conversation with each class focuses on safety and what to do if our building becomes unsafe. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions as we move through the classroom visits.
