News You Can Use
I looked at my walkthroughs and realized that I need to visit some teachers a few more times before the end of the year. I am trying to visit each classroom three times so if I visit your room two weeks in a row you will know why. (Just trying to even out my list!) After I complete a walkthrough I will add it to the T-Tess section in DMAC. I will still use notability during the walkthrough and send it to you in an email. Once I get back to my office and get a free minute, I will add it to dmac. If I don't write a comment or click and mark the area in dmac, it won't be a bad thing. It just means I didn't see it. I know I won't see a whole lesson in the ten minutes I am there. You will have feedback by the next school day. Please sign the walkthrough in DMAC electronically then I can go in and sign it on my end.
I found out that we will not have to time bathroom breaks for the students during the STAAR test! This is great news. I know that was a headache for everyone involved. I am glad that someone listened and decided to change that nonsense! We will still record the total test taking time. I will leave the paper that has the key in your folder so you can record it on the answer document.
Please remember to let your students and parents no there will be no late start of May 9th. Start telling them now in newsletters, notes and remind texts. Thank you for helping to spread the word.
We will have the Early Literacy and Star testing in the computer lab the week of May 3rd. This will be the end of the year test that will show on the yearly growth report. You may want to stress the importance of doing their best to the students. (If I were still in the classroom, I would be going in there with them to do the teacher monitoring stink eye.) If you want me to go in there with you I will be glad to help monitor also.
