Our Mission
Be an Awesomizer!
That's how we carry the banner for students and for each other: one conversation and one interaction at a time. Little by little we connect, support, and encourage, and by doing so, we begin to create a positive culture for our students and our school communities. And we don't speak negatively about those we support and serve. We can have the best of intentions and tell our students and our colleagues that we care about them, that they are important to us, that we are here to help them be successful, and that we will not let them fail; however, carrying the banner for our students and our colleagues means we maintain such support even when they fail to live up to our expectations. Each of us possesses the power to be a difference maker for every student, every day. We must be willing to do whatever it takes and not give up on our parents, teachers and administrators. Our school don't need more awfulizers; they need more awesomizers!
You can be that awesomizer! It will be the way you pause and make one child at a time feel valued rather than invisible. It will be the encouragement you offer to a struggling student or the chance you take to show a little faith and be an advocate for a student whom others just "don't get." Every student and every staff member deserve to work in an environment where they are given the opportunity to leave their legacy because someone is carrying the banner for them.

PBS lesson
Our behavior data shows the greatest need is student defiance. Our lessons over the quarter will focus on skills that support student's following adult directions, even when it's hard.
The PBS lesson focus this week is a review of expectations as we return from spring break and head into the last months of school. The PBS lessons will be shared before we return on April 1st.
Our Second Steps. . .
Lesson 22 is where we have each classroom paced on lessons:
Kindergarten- Having fun with our friends
1st grade - Reviewing Second Steps Skills
2nd grade - Reviewing Second Steps Skills
3rd grade - Reviewing Second Steps Skills
4th grade - Reviewing Second Steps Skills
5th grade - Reviewing Second Steps Skills
Celebrate the Positive!
Have you kept an eye out for the positive choices by students? Have you written a positive referral to recognize a student doing a great job?

Dr. Day's Update
Some of you know, but for those that don't, I'm currently working on coursework for a Reading Specialist degree. Right now I'm taking a class on diversity and we had a great, very short, video to watch this week and I thought I would share it with you. I loved the message of the speaker in being able to see what lies underneath instead of just what's on the surface. Only 7 minutes long, but very worth the watch!
