Bushy Bear Tales

Volume 12- March 12, 2018

From Mrs. Ketterer:

We had had such an unusual winter! Even as spring works hard to arrive, the winds have kept blowing. Still, with Daylight Saving Time returning this weekend, we can enjoy the light and believe the warmth will come.

There will be warmth inside and outside as exciting activities and learning lie ahead! Our students took home their 3rd Quarter Interims and their Winter MAP Reports last week. There is so much they have accomplished! Thank you for your support in talking with your child about celebrations and setting goals together!

JA Day Inspired Financial Literacy!

Thanks to our PTA Chairperson, Kina Morton, and over 25 parents, our students had the opportunity to learn about economics and careers! On February 22nd, parents and community facilitated games, simulations and problem solving situations for each classroom throughout the day! The activities built upon each other as the grade levels advance.

BPES Science Fair was AMAZING!

Over 100 students participated in this year's Science Fair investigating dozens of topics! Thank you to Dina Goldman, our PTA Science Fair Chairperson. She organized a day that offered students the opportunity to interact with community members to present their investigations. Students also enjoyed sharing their learning with fellow classmates, teachers and their parents during the evening program! Here are a few memories!

BPES 40/10 Celebration DATE CHANGE Now Friday, June 8th

Join in the celebration of Bushy Park's 40th Birthday of being a school and the 10th Anniversary of being in this building.

On Friday, June 8th, we will celebrate the decades we have been a school! We want alumni to share their memories and help us commemorate our school community!
We will begin at 5:00 p.m. and take photos of families as they enter. We will have games, decade dances, special speakers, school tours, family photos and more! We will also be taking a photo of the event from our roof to capture the moment!

Very soon, we will be sending home our T-Shirt Contest Flyers to ask our BPES students to help design our 40/10 T-shirts we will all wear that day!

Please email Mrs. Ketterer at molly_ketterer@hcpss.org if you want to join our committee, offer photos or memories or have ideas to help us.
