Important Reminders
- There is no homework this week or next week.
- April book orders are due by Thursday, April 27th online only please. You can order online with Scholastic and the code to help our class earn books is NDJXN. Thank you to all who have ordered so far this school year!
- If you would like an April math practice packet (there are different questions in it than in Feb. and Mar.), please send me a message and I will send one home.
- Third grade AIR testing takes place on Monday, April 10 and Tuesday, April 11 for the reading test. I sent home links to practice tests that other states use, and the links will be at the bottom of this newsletter, too.
- AIR testing for the math test takes place on Tuesday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 19. Please make sure your child gets a good night's rest, eats breakfast, and is ready to try their best!
- There is no school on Friday, April 14 or Monday, April 17 for the Easter holiday weekend. Enjoy your weekend!
- Please return the order form for Student Treasures Publishing books, even if you are not planning to buy one. If you are buying one, they cost about $20 each and will arrive to us in May.
- Our class is taking a field trip on Friday, April 21 to the Nature Realm. Thank you to all parents who wanted to volunteer! The two parent chaperones chosen were Andrew's uncle and Aubrey's mom.
Thanks,
Mrs. Reiber
Special Awards
Congratulations to those students who earned a PBIS sticker this week for good behavior and for the Art Award. Aubrey had the most points in our class for the month of March and she won our monthly prize!
Happy Birthday!
Mrs. Reiber's birthday is the day after Easter next week!
What we are learning in Room 12...
This is the area of the weekly newsletter where parents/guardians can be informed of what is planned for our week. If your child is going to be absent, please let me know in advance if possible, so I can send make-up work with them.
- Math - We will review the topics of measurement/data and geometry in math class this week to prepare us for the AIR test. We will also take a practice test on the computers.
- Reading - We will take the AIR test this week on the computers. Students will also finish their biographies about people important to Black History Month so that we can mail our work to Student Treasures Publishing.
- Writing/Spelling - There are no spelling words for the next two weeks. In writing class, we are working on our opinion writing unit.
- Science - We recently began our new unit about matter. Students have had fun learning songs about solids, liquids, and gases. We even completed a grape soda and ice cream experiment! Science will be postponed until after the AIR testing is complete.
