Center Community Chat
January 30 2022
Dear Center Community,
It was a happening week at Center! Dine to Donate was a huge success. It was nice to see and to visit with so many families at The Establishment on Tuesday. Fundraisers such as this support our enrichment programs, and we had two great events last week!
Author of the Mr. Terupt series, Rob Buyea came to speak to our 4th graders. He visited each class individually, guiding them in the writing process. After hearing some of their work, I dare say we likely to have Center students publishing their own work some day.
Our first grade students engaging in hands on learning about sound through a Discovery Museum presentation. They used household materials to create unique sounds. Have them show you what they learned at home.
Thank you for making these fun learning opportunities possible.
Staff Updates
We are excited to welcome Erica Barrett, special education teacher, back from her parental leave tomorrow and wish Mary Guerra, 4th grade teacher, well as she embarks on her parental leave.
Many thanks to Amy Miller for filling in for Ms. Barrett. She will be filling in for Ms. Guerra until Jessica Erickson can join us on February 14th. Jessica Erickson had filled two long-term substitute positions at Center and was a paraprofessional at Center as well.
Center Chirps:
- Parking at Pick Up- Please do not block in any cars when you arrive for pick up. If there are no legal spots we ask that you remain in your vehicles until one opens. Our paraprofessionals leave at 3:15 and several spots will open once they leave.
- Please make sure children are dressed appropriately for the winter weather. Students will be going out for recess if the RealFeel temperature is 20 degrees or warmer and it is not raining during their recess time slot. Students will be able to play in the snow and on the swings during recess if they are wearing snow pants, boots and a jacket.
Be well and have a good week.
Warm regards,
Dianna and Donna

Attention 3rd grade parents
Dear 3rd Grade Parent,
Massachusetts General Law 105 CMR 200.00 Section 100 requires that a child be examined every three to four years after entering school. Chelmsford Public Schools requires a current physical exam in the school health record for all kindergarten, third, sixth, and ninth graders. A physical completed between Jan 2021 and June 2022 (18 months) is requested.
A Physical Exam includes a statement that your child has no physical restrictions and communicates that your child is safe to participate in all school activities. Please send in a copy. If needed, send in the original and a copy can be made and the original will be returned to you. Your child’s doctor’s office may fax one to Center School Nurse at 978-256-4282 (Fax).
Sincerely,
Kathy Rossman BSN RN”
