Child Care Chalkboard

November 1-30

Theme of the Month: Thankfulness

Items for Fall/Winter

As much as we hate to say it, it's time to start bringing winter clothing. Please make sure your child has gloves, hat and a winter jacket. Snow pants and boots are a must once the snow starts to fly, but some children also like them for warmth before the snow.

We do take the children outside at least once a day. Our outdoor policy reads:

We try to go outside every day. We are not staffed to keep children inside when everyone else is outside. Please make sure your child has the proper clothing to go outside every day. Our policy in the winter is as follows: 15 degrees and below – Don’t go out

16 – 25 degrees – 30 minutes max. 26 degrees and above – Staff discretion

Daylight Savings

Don't forget to set your clocks back on Sunday, November 4.

Closed for Thanksgiving

We will be closed Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23 for Thanksgiving.

Annual Thanksgiving Program

Just a heads up that we will not be having our Thanksgiving Program this year. We know that many of you look forward to this event every year, but it would not fit with some of our schedules. We will try to replace it with a similar event at a later date.

School Picture Re-take Opportunity

November 27

Swan Lake Studio will be at Trinity School on November 27th re-taking individual pictures of kids. If you missed the first opportunity, or would like to have pictures re-taken, please talk to your child's teacher. (Ordering can be done online; or with an order form.)

Parent/Teacher Conferences

We will be offering Parent/Teacher Conferences for all children that attend 3 or more days each week. The conferences will be Monday, December 3rd and Tuesday, December 11th . Watch for sign-up sheets later this month.

Early Closure

We will be closing all centers at 5:00 pm on Friday, December 14. This is the night of our annual staff Christmas Party. Please make arrangements to pick up your child before 5:00 on this night. Thank you!

Kids Say the Darndest Things

The Butterfly class went on a walk to look at trees and name their parts. When they came upon an apple tree, the teacher picked one to take back and taste. One of the children looked up wide eyed and asked, "Are we just gonna steal it then?"

Parents Say the Darndest Things

What is the funniest/craziest thing you've said to your children? Drop us a note and we'll choose one to place in the newsletter each month.

Immunization Update

When your child receives new immunizations, please bring those records in to the office. We must keep immunizations up to date on all children. Our records are checked yearly to make sure all children are current. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Cold & Flu Season--Sick Policy

For the protection of all the children, and our staff, your child should be kept at home if signs of illness are showing such as:

a. Temperature of 101 degrees or more (must be fever free without medication for 24 hours before returning)

b. Sore or discharging eyes, ears or throat

c. Intestinal disturbance, diarrhea, or vomiting (must be free of symptoms for 24 hours before returning)
