Little Elm High School
News, Updates, and Accolades - March 26, 2020
Message from Dr. Priddy
As you may already be aware, the decision was announced today that our schools will stay closed through April 17th with a return date of Monday, April 20th. Students - I have had lots of conversations with teachers, counselors, and administrators this past week, and I can tell you that we all miss you and look forward to being back on campus with you.
Although there is a lot of uncertainty and anxiousness that we are all feeling right now, I want to encourage you to stay positive and to take care of yourselves. I challenge you to use this time in a positive way. Set goals for yourself and make a list of things you would like to accomplish daily, and over the next 3 weeks while you are away from LEHS. Before you know it, this time will pass. Time is a gift so I encourage you to use it wisely and to your benefit.
Beginning Monday, March 26th, your teachers will be communicating with you about online lessons. It is very important that you engage with your teachers in the lessons that they provide for you. Although we are not in classrooms at LEHS, it is important that we maintain continuity in your learning. The Covid quarantine will not last forever and when all of this is behind us, it is important that every student finish the 2019-2020 school year in the best standing possible.
Your teachers have been hard at work during this last week to prepare lessons. Teachers have been reaching out to all of their 3rd period students (or their parents) this week. If you have not heard from your 3rd period teacher yet, send them an email with your contact number so that they can touch base with you.
Just as this situation is new for you, it is also new for your teachers. Your teachers will do their very best to support you while you are learning online at home. If you are confused, frustrated, or just have questions, please do not hesitate to email your teacher, your counselor, your AP, or me if you need assistance. We may not have all the answers right away or a quick solution, but if you are having a question or issue...it is likely someone else has the same question or issue.
Stay home, stay well, and Go Lobos!

NEW DATE for PROM - May 18th, 2020
Due to the extended school closure, we have decided to move Prom to Monday, May 18th. I realize that having Prom on a Monday is quite out of the ordinary. In order to keep our Prom venue with Knotting Hill, we must select from their available dates, and as you can imagine, dates are limited in May and June for venues like Knotting Hill.
We realize as well, that a lot of students have not yet had the opportunity to shop for a dress or rent a tuxedo. By postponing Prom until May 18th, this will hopefully give everyone ample time to shop and be ready for the big night.
The price of prom tickets will not increase going forward.Tickets are $75/each.
Forms for permission to bring dates that do not attend LEHS can be obtained from Mr. Hamlin. khamlin@littleelmisd.net or Dr. Priddy eapriddy@littleelmisd.net and are due May 10th.
