Rita Pierson on YouTube!

If you have a few minutes watch Rita Pierson on YouTube. "Every Kid Needs a Champion" is a must watch! We viewed it as a staff a few years ago, and it is powerful! It is a great reminder of what we can offer to our students and why we do what we do! Check it out below.

Vertical Team Meetings

Please see the schedule sent out through the Outlook Calendar invite for details on who is to attend, where to meet, and what resources to bring. We will meet vertically about every month this year. I would love your feedback on what is most helpful to you as we meet in these teams.

Brag Board

Please send me your students who are going above and beyond or who have reached a significant personal milestone to celebrate on our Brag Board. I will start drawing names each week for a small treat. When we clear the board we will have a school-wide reward.

Thank you!

Staff Spotlight - Maggie Moore

Staff Spotlight

Where did you grow up? Allen, Texas—I was the first Kinder class at Green when it opened and then went to Kerr when it opened my 5th and 6th grade year, was a Curtis Cougar, then an Allen Eagle.

Describe your family. I have three roommates, my dad (Todd) who does something in finance, my mom (Diane) who is the AIM teacher at Chandler, and my dog (Leo). In April my new roommate will be Adam (my fiance) he works at XTO Energy. Out of the house are my 2 sisters in college (Clare and Abby).

What university did you attend? I went to the University of Oklahoma—BOOMER SOONER!

What are your favorite activities? My favorite activities are reading, watching too many tv shows, spending time with friends and family.

If you had $1000 to spend on anything, what would you spend it on? Since I am planning a wedding, I would put it towards that. If I were not planning a wedding, it would be spent on clothes and shoes.

What is your favorite reality TV show? Bachelor/Bachelorette, but I just got into Little People, Big World on TLC (love that family)!

If you were not a teacher, what would you be? If I were not a teacher, I would be a wedding planner or my dream is to open a wedding dress boutique.

Don't forget! Allen ISD Bond Election is coming up!

Bond Components:

  • Construction of Elementary #18
  • Construction of AHS STEM Campus
  • Construction of new Lowery Freshman Center
  • Renovations and upgrades including moving Dillard Center, new Professional Learning space, artificial turf at baseball and softball fields, lights and seating at Ereckson track
