A Message From Our Principal
Dear HFCS Community,
All Saints Day, November 1, was a spiritually rich day for our students as many of them embodied saintly identities in one of HFCS’ favorite traditions, the Living Saints Museum. I was very impressed to listen to our MS students teach the younger students about the lives of the saints. The students took great care to dress like their saints and they did a fantastic job! Olivia Vasquez, as St. Cecilia the Patron Saint of Music, told the younger students that she “heard heavenly music in her heart and she played it.”
Mrs. Szostek’s second graders did a very creative project depicting their chosen saints and their symbols. Mrs. Gomez’ first graders visited their classroom for saint presentations and a lively parade to “When the Saints Come Marching In!”
Mrs. Jonkers’ kindergarten class brought joy to residents of Brookdale last Friday when they visited wearing their colorful storybook costumes!

I invite parents, teachers and staff to participate in a short and simple survey by November 15. I will share the results with you at a HFCS evening event in January, date TBD.
Your responses to this survey, and our future sharing and listening session, will help us celebrate our strengths and shape the next phase of HFCS strategic planning and marketing. Here is the link to the anonymous survey: https://forms.gle/18wEs5FWAERrQuVc8 I look forward to hearing your voice through this survey!
Holy Family, Pray for us!

One reason I teach at Holy Family Catholic School is the outstanding environment. We truly are a family. We help each other, pray for each other, laugh often, and learn from one another. Another reason I teach here is the students. Watching them grow and become outstanding young men and women is a gift. I feel blessed to be a part of such a positive school.

HORNET ATHLETICS
6th Grade Flag Football
Abby Smith won the Faith and Fire Award for leadership, sportsmanship and Christian values. She was also one of our top scorers and one of our best defenders. Oh, and did we mention she was the only girl in the league!
The other teams in the league had anywhere from 9 to 14 players, meaning our students were on for the entirety of their games. Our team beat Holy Trinity, St. Rita and SEAS twice. Our team squared off in the championship, just barely being outscored by St. John the Apostle.
Many thanks to Coach Jesse Granado for his coaching and leadership!
Congratulations to players Abigail Smith, Daniel Granado, Jude Pierce, and Aaron Morales for a great 2019 season!
