Friday May 3, 2019
This has been a fabulous day! We have had so much fun with our students during Fun Run! Your child should be totally worn out this afternoon and ready for bed! However, I highly recommend a bath or shower! (LOL) We played hard and are a bit sweaty.
Many thanks to you and your efforts as the Boosterthon Fun Run has been a total success! It has been huge! Today, the team announced that you and our students raised a little over $38,000.00. Thank YOU!!! This is amazing!
When we return next week, we begin our state assessments for 3rd-5th grades. Please don't stress your child out about this. You just need to be sure that they go to bed early, eat a balanced breakfast, and arrive on time. The first day is on Wednesday for 3rd and 5th grade students. The teachers and students have worked hard! They are all ready! We just ask that they do their best and to remember that this is just one piece of data.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the great outdoors and a great book!
Again, thank you ALL! Our Midway family is the BEST ever!!!
Yours truly,
Jan Fickling, Principal of Midway Elementary School

COLLECTING OLD SHOES: 5th Grade Spring Service Project
Our 5th-grade spring service project is to collect old shoes. So clean out your closets and start looking under your beds for gently used shoes and turn them in to your child’s teacher or one of our collection boxes in the halls. Every pair you recycle means extra funds for CampMates, less landfill waste and the potential to connect us to a SoleMate! We are collecting shoes through the end of the school year.
