Our Greendell Goslings Swim Back to School
Welcome Greendell Families!
I hope you enjoyed a fun, relaxing summer with your families. We are so excited to have our students back in the classroom! There is no better sound than the children joyfully playing and learning together.
We have been busy preparing for the start of school at Greendell: our custodial staff spent the whole summer deep cleaning classrooms and preparing our campus, teachers have been participating in extensive professional development including 30 hours of Orton-Gillingham training on teaching early literacy, and our office staff has been getting everything in order to welcome our students back to school next week.
While it may look a bit different now than in years past, we are thrilled to have in-person teaching and learning at Greendell!
I look forward to greeting families on the first day of school, Thursday, August 12th!
Welcome!

Health and Safety Protocols - August 3, 2021
PAUSD continues to follow the guidance from the CDPH (California Department of Public Health) and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) regarding COVID-19 safety protocols for our students, staff, and families. Please see below for highlights:
- Masks must be worn by students and staff at all times indoors.

- No social distancing requirements.
- Parents/adult volunteers will not yet be allowed on campus during the school day except when pre-approved and deemed necessary for an instructional program.
- Families will drop off/pick up their children at a designated gate and school staff will accompany students to and from their classrooms.
- For now, no in-person community gatherings or events for families.
For now, no field trips.
Daily health screeners will not be required each morning. Please remain vigilant and keep your child home if they exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19.
- Classrooms will continue to utilize air filters to ensure adequate air filtration and ventilation.
- Staff will teach proper hand washing techniques and children will be reminded to wash their hands frequently.
I will update families when there is a change in the protocols. You can also learn of our district’s most up-to-date policies and procedures here on the PAUSD website.
Greendell and Classroom Information
The First Day of School is on Thursday, August 12th - Teachers will meet students and families at their designated gate at drop-off and pick-up times. After hugs and kisses, your child's teacher and classroom staff will lead the class to their classroom to begin their day.
Preparing for the First Day of School - Practice wearing a mask with your child and make sure it fits comfortably; involve your child in choosing and packing their backpack and snack; adjust your child's sleep routine in preparation for getting ready for school; and talk about how much fun they will have at school (The Goslings are our school's mascots and a great conversation starter).
Visit Greendell with Your Child - It has been awhile since we have been at school. Our campus is open to the public in the evenings and on the weekend. So families are welcome to bring their children to play on our Greendell playgrounds when classes are not in session. You can talk about Greendell being their school and have fun playing on their playground.
Our Virtual Back to School Night is on Tuesday, August 17 from 7:00pm-8:00pm - Please join us for Greendell School's Virtual Back to School Night. Our meeting will be held on Zoom and the links will be included in our next newsletter.
