What is Junior Great Books?
Junior Great Book Foundation defines the Junior Great Book Program as a powerful combination of outstanding literature and Shared Inquiry discussions. Great Books K–12 programs help students become critical thinkers of the 21st century.
Facilitators (parents) guide students in a small group (2-5 students):
- Read a text selection of great literature based on quality literature that has withstood the test of time. (classic literature)
- Examine a selection to think more deeply about it using a focus question to guide a discussion on the selected text (story)
- Teach students how to dialogue with peers.
- Students share and evaluate their ideas to deepen their critical thinking.
If you would like to be a part of PC Junior Great Books, please sign up to volunteer.
Training will be held on September 18th at 8:15 A.M. in the GT portable.
