J. William Leary Junior High School
Update and Information
I hope summer is off to a great start!
Report cards will be mailed soon-look for them early next week.
As this most unusual year comes to a close, I want to thank you again for your partnership in getting us to this point. You and your children are so resilient, we are very proud of how this past school year was handled.
Many things had to look different this year, but I’m so pleased and proud that we were able to keep moving forward. Teachers, support staff, counselors, custodians, bus drivers, and cafeteria workers are superheroes! When you see them please take a moment to thank them for working so hard to keep everyone safe and learning.
At this time, we plan are planning for next year and are optimistic for some normalcy. We look forward to having every student back in school; they have been missed! Requests for supply lists have been coming year-the current lists for 2021-2022 are linked below.
To help with the nerves and transition to 9th grade Mr Oliver virtually met up with our 8th grade classes to say hello, a copy of that video is linked below. Thank you Mr. Oliver!

Thank You AMVETS!
Thank you to AMVETS Post-4 Massena NY who donated a refrigerator
The refrigerator is going to be used to store items for the JW Leary Food Pantry. Building off of work that has already been happening with J.W. Leary’s backpack program, food drop off and home visits the JW Leary Food Pantry has been established in collaboration with the Salvation Army.
Helping to connect families with food, housing, school supplies, warm clothing, and technology so that students can have the opportunity to be as successful in school as possible is important to Massena Central School District. We are grateful for the AMVETS donation of the refrigerator which will help us to launch this new initiative.
