Whew! We’ve been working hard, so this Winter Break is welcome. We have finished China for now and are looking forward to starting with Greece after break. There will be one slight change to Quarter 3 as we will move our study of African civilizations forward to coincide with Black History Month. This will happen between Greece and Rome. Enjoy your break!
In Mr. Press’s Mythology and World Art elective we drifted off of Mythology and made portraits in the style of Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein. The kids won’t finish in time to be in the newsletter, but here’s mine from back when I had the beard.
SPANISH
We had a great semester! Students got to learn greetings and goodbyes, the alphabet, numbers, days of the week and months of the year, and basic Spanish conversations. They also worked in different activities related to the Spanish culture like carnivals, masks, and The Day of the Dead. They got to know about the different Spanish Speaking Countries, their customs, culture, and traditions. Students also worked on puppet shows to practice Spanish conversations and this week they learned about the history of the Piñata and as a class, they are making their own Piñata! I will miss all my students this semester, but I am pretty sure that I will get a nice group of new students next semester!!!
At Clubs (stress free and video games) we will continue having fun! Thanks for being part of my clubs. We will do many things next semester!
Happy Holidays! Enjoy your break! See you next year! 😊
