Definition of Stretching
Stretching is a form of stationary exercise I which a specific muscle group is deliberately stretched in order to improve the muscle's felt elasticity and achieve comfortable muscle tone. The result increases flexibility and range of motion.
Stretching for specific muscles:
Arms
Cross one across your body and use your other arm to pull it toward your body. (repeat with other arm)
Legs
Position your legs wider than your hips and lean toward one side, reaching for your toes (repeat with other leg)
Abs
Lay flat on your stomach and lift or push your upper body off of the ground and reach behind you.

- Stretching increases blood flow to your muscles. If you have tissue damage, increased blood flow can increase oxygenation to the damaged tissues and decrease your recovery time.
