Dear Poupard Families,
"Attend" Every Day
It has been quite the interesting couple of weeks with so days of school being canceled due to weather followed by a week off for Midwinter Break. My key word for the rest of the year is going to be "Attend". When we "Attend", we're in the know about things that are going on and have a seat at the table. When students "Attend", they keep up with their classmates and can build on their prior learning. We always want your learner here at school gaining experiences that will help them grow and learn academically and socially. Please continue to help your learner "Attend" by setting a reasonable bed time, eating nutritious foods, communicating about any issues at school and practicing Habit 1: being proactive.
Spring Conferences (March 18-21)
Spring Conferences are right around the corner! Poupard will be offering a couple different ways for families to learn about their child's progress this spring. At Poupard, we understand that families want to be a part of their child's learning experience but may not always be able to during the traditional ways that have been made available in the past. We also believe that all of our students matter so our goal is creating opportunities and avenues that allow 100% of our families to be able to attend conferences.
We are striving for an increase with the possible adjustments identified below:
Monday, March 18th -
(3-4) Pre-conference slots available for families 8:15-8:55
Tuesday, March 19th -
(3-4) Pre-conference slots available for families from 4:00-5:00
Wednesday, March 20th -
Normal Pre-scheduled Conferences from 5:00-8:00
Thursday, March 21st -
Normal pre-scheduled Conferences from 1:00-4:00
Open drop in time for families from 5:00-8:00
Thank you for making Poupard an amazing place to be!

Notes from the Office Staff
BRR It's Cold...Preparing for Winter
Poupard students go outdoors for recess two times each day throughout the school year unless it is raining hard or the wind chill is below zero degrees Fahrenheit. Please be sure that your child leaves for school dressed properly for the weather. All students must have boots and snowpants to play on the wood chips, field and gaga ball court once the snow is on the ground—otherwise they must stay on the blacktop.
Students may build things (snowmen, fort, snow angels, etc) with the snow but are not permitted to throw snow or ice while on Poupard grounds. This will help all the students enjoy the joy of snow.
We also ask that you write your child’s name on his/her gloves, hats, boots, and
coat. Our Lost and Found quickly fills up!
Thank you!!!

Shoe Drive Update:
Poupard Families have donated 69 bags of shoes!!! Each bag contains 2 pairs of shoes…that’s a total of 1,725 pairs of shoes. Our goal was 100 bags of shoes by January 19th… we fell short by 31 bags. The Organization has completed their first pick-up and there’s still one more pick-up to go! This gives us a little more time to collect more shoes. If you still have shoes to donate, please drop them off at Poupard near the office. The final pick-up date and end of the Shoe Drive will be announced as soon as the Organization notifies us of the final pick-up date. Shortly after, we will also announce the final results.
Thanks for all your efforts in collecting and donating shoes. Shoes go to people in need and Poupard PTO receives a monetary donation for sponsoring the program. This was an awesome feat and Poupard Families should be proud of what we were able to accomplish!
Big Thanks and Shout Out to Poupard Parent Logan bring such an awesome program to Poupard and leading the charge.
