Google Play which was formerly known as the Android Market is a digital application distribution platform for Android devices. They have 700,000 apps an over 25 billion downloads. This app store allows users to browse and download music, magazines, books, movies, television shows, and applications that are published and purchased through Google. Application can either be free or have to be paid for. It was first established on October 23, 2008.
Itunes
iTunes is media player and media library application that is developed by Apple Inc. and used by them for all of the devices that use their software. It is used to play, download, and organize digital audio and video on personal computers running the OS X operating system and iOS software that is used in their portable devices such as iPod, iPhone, an iPad. Through the iTunes Store, users can purchase and download items. iTunes 11 is the most recent version of iTunes. iTunes was started in 2000.
Similarites between Google Play and iTunes
1. Both Google Play and Itunes can be accessed from a variety of devices and other places. Mobile devices and computers are places that you can access the stores but the apperence is different when you use different devices.
2. Apps on both stores can be free, lite, or paid for.
3. Music, movies, and books can also be purchased from both stores.
