Reading & Writing
In reading classes this week, students will have an extended Reading CCA. The best way to study for this is to read at home with your child 30 minutes each night and encourage them to do their best by using their strategies on test day.
Writing:
This week we will wrap up writing camp! We will review our stations and correct any misunderstandings. We will review strategies in small group as well as engage in writing conferences.
Social Studies
Students will begin learning about the growth, development and impact that the cattle industry, and the railroads had on Texas' frontier, cities and industries and the effects these changes had on American Indian life and the economic development and urbanization of Texas.
Math & Science
Math:
We are deep in the first part of our geometry unit. Students have been practicing identifying different types of lines and classifying triangles based on the sides and angles. Next up, students will observe and classify shapes based on the presence of perpendicular and parallel lines as well as angles. Students need to be familiar with the differences between obtuse, acute and right angles.
Science:
In science classes, students have been investigating how plants, or producers, use the process of photosynthesis to make their own food. Students need to understand sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide are essential for this process to happen. We have also been discussing and investigating that consumers are animals who are dependent on other organisms for food while decomposers use what has been left over as food.

TRANSPORTATION CHANGES
Safety First! We are very strict about transportation changes, for the safety of your little ones. We will send your student home exactly as you indicated in the student’s Skyward Family Access profile. You will be able to make a change to your student’s transportation if switching from bus rider to a car rider or vice versa via email before 1:00 p.m. and within 24 hours of the change request. The transportation email is: BBEStransportationchanges@libertyhill.txed.net. Notes, phone calls, text messages, and emails sent to any other party other than the transportation email indicated above, will NOT be accepted. Any emails after 1:00 p.m. will not be processed by the campus. Please visit the transportation page on the LHISD district website for additional instructions and information.
VISITOR ROUTINES
Whether it's to spend time with your child for breakfast or lunch, or to help out in the classroom, we love having visitors on campus! For the protection of our students and staff, we require that all visitors present a valid Driver’s License or another form of a government issued current photo ID prior to any visit or student contact (no exceptions!). District employees may show their active LHISD employee badge as ID.
We also ask that all classroom visitors make arrangements/appointments with classroom teachers or administrators prior to a visit, as we do not allow unscheduled visits (as much as we like surprises!).

- Please send ONE healthy snack such as (granola, cheese sticks, popcorn, fruit, etc.) with your child EVERY DAY
