Message From The Principal
Happy Friday Eagle families,
Its been a busy and productive week on the Ranch. We completed our 2nd week of state testing and block schedule (next week is the final week). On Monday, a group of students took a field trip to the new MSJC Temecula campus. On Tuesday, the drug dog was on campus (unfortunately several students were issued citations for being in possession of nicotine vapes).
On Wednesday morning, the district's executive cabinet interrupted our staff meeting to announce that Mrs. Cunningham has been selected as TVUSD's high school Teacher of the Year! Woohoo!!! Mrs. C is now being considered for Riverside County Teacher of the Year.
On Friday, our Pride Club students organized an event to coincide with the National Day of Silence. Students wishing to participate wore a sticker acknowledging their support and refrained from speaking until lunch time. At lunch, students were invited to listen to a guest speaker from the LGBTQ+ community. I am extremely proud of the club and our school for taking an active role in creating an environment where ALL students feel safe, respected and appreciated.
Think different. Be different.
Tim Dignan

Mrs. Cunningham is the TVUSD Teacher of the Year!

DID YOU KNOW? Earth Day fun facts
• Exceeding all expectations, 20 million Americans participated in the first Earth Day observance in 1970. Celebrations effectively stopped traffic in New York City when 20,000 people packed Union Square to see Hollywood actor Paul Newman and hear a speech by New York City Mayor John Lindsay, who arrived on an electric bus.
• John McConnell was the creator of the first Earth Day Flag. His design was inspired when he saw the first picture of the Earth, later dubbed "The Blue Marble", printed in Life magazine.
• Throughout the 1970's, Earth Day observances eventually led to the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts.
• Today, Earth Day is the largest secular holiday in the world, with more than 500 million people taking part in 174 countries around the world.

Facilities Master Plan
The Temecula Valley Unified School District is in the process of developing a district-wide facilities master plan. The intent of this endeavor is to define the District’s facilities needs for the next ten years. We are seeking input from you to help us determine what is important to our community. The District’s master plan Core Planning Group, in association with DLR Group Architects, has developed the following list of items for consideration based on site visits, input from campus representations, and input from community meetings. We value your input.
This video featuring Dr. Jodi McClay will explain the Facility Master Plan process. https://vimeo.com/686561182/0d68b7e48f Please take this opportunity to share your opinion with us.

ELAC MEETING

April is ARAB AMERICAN HERITAGE Month
Paula Abdul
Paula is of Syrian descent. Her father was born in Aleppo, Syria and raised in Brazil. She has lived in Syria and Brazil. Singer, Dancer, and Choreographer, many may know Paula Abdul best as a former host on American Idol, The X Factor, and So You Think You Can Dance, but she’s much more than that.

April is DEAF AWARENESS Month
Thomas Edison
Known by many as America’s greatest inventor, Thomas Edison spent much of his life with little to no hearing.
Edison is famous for engineering world-changing devices including the light bulb, the phonograph (the first device to record and play back sound), and the microphone used in telephones.
There’s much mystery surrounding the cause of Edison’s hearing loss, which he claims began as young as 12 years old. Some suggest that a case of Scarlet Fever was the cause. Others believe it was passed down within his family. Edison himself claimed that he was picked up by the ears after falling out of a train, hearing a ‘pop’ inside his ears.
Edison said that he was better able to concentrate on his work due to his hearing loss, suggesting that deaf people (like himself) should ‘take to reading’ because “it beats the babble of ordinary conversation.”
