DRUG USE

Jim Morrison lived on a roof in Venice Beach after graduating from UCLA in 1968 where he lived off of canned beans and acid for several months. After Morrison's band, The Doors, began to gain fame, his drinking and drug use continued to increase. Morrison abused, alcohol, acid, cocaine, and other various drugs.

ARRESTS AND DEATH

Morrison was repeatedly arrested on stage, while under the influence, for unorderly conduct, exposure, obscenity, and on two occasions, starting riots. In 1971, Morrison moved to Paris to work on poetry and died from a heroin overdose on July 3rd, 1971. It was reported by a friend of his that he snorted heroin that he believed to be cocaine.
