Begining of the King Ranch and Ranchers

In 1853 King bought the Santa Fertrudis for 15,000 acres in the Fulf Coast area.

Eventually this holding would become the famous King Ranch.

Although the cattle continued to multiply, Angol ranchers still faced many challenges.

Theft and drought were the most common. A problem was the lack of markets. Ranchers knew a product without a market is little value.
