What's Going On in the Library?
March 2021
We Have a Winner!
The American Library Association awards the Caldecott Medal to the artist of "the most distinguished American picture book for children." This year, after listening to 13 different titles (fiction, nonfiction, and poetry were represented), first- and second-graders chose Snail Crossing by Corey R. Tabor as their Mock Caldecott winner.
Hello from Mr. Walsh!
My name is Robert (Bobby) Walsh, and Ms. Moore has been kind enough to take me on as her student librarian for this year. I am a student at the University of Rhode Island in my final year of school. I hope to work as a school librarian, just like Ms. Moore in the future.
I have been observing Ms. Moore for the last few weeks and will be teaching some of my own classes soon. When I am not in the library, I like riding my bike, walking my dogs, and baking. I look forward to working with you and your students very soon.
What We're Covering This Month
I'm working on getting all of my lessons and resources online via the LibGuide platform. I also post photos of students and their work on our blog. Here's what we're currently learning about:
