Faith Formation Update
September 2022
Welcome Back!
We are very excited to begin our Faith Formation year! Our hope is to bring structure and routine as we grow in faith together. This year we will continue to do the Family Model and continue to build your domestic church. What does that mean? It means we are here to help guide and support you as a whole family. For information about the Domestic Church please read the article below from the USCCB website.
What Will Faith Formation Look Like This Year?
We will continue the same model from last year. We will begin at Mass at Christ the King Church at 11:00 am. After Mass we will gather for some food and fellowship, then the kids will go with their catechist for grade-level faith education, while the parents get to meet with Father Gonyo, Anna, and other guest speakers to discuss topics that will help you support each other and what your children will be learning about. After discussions and lessons, everyone will come together again for a closing prayer and dismissal. We will meet twice a month (except for September, February, and April). Also, there will be other family activities to participate in throughout the year (Advent Family Night, Stations of the Cross, etc...). We are hoping to wrap everything up by 2:00 pm. We ask that you are flexible during our first few sessions while we try this new structured approach.
