We are excited to announce Folsom Middle School's largest ANNUAL SCHOOL FUNDRAISER will be 100% online this year. You will be able to reach out to family, friends, neighbors, and businesses by email, Facebook, and Twitter.
This week, you will receive an email with a link to your student's unique pledge page. Simply click the link to make a donation to your student's unique pledge page, and share your student's link with others. We are shooting for 100% participation so no amount is too small.
If you do not receive the email for whatever reason, simply search and find your student's unique online pledge page here: https://www.99pledges.com/fund/fmsjagathon21 or email president.fmspto@gmail.com for assistance.
🎯WE'RE ASKING EACH FAMILY TO RAISE $50. Having a unique pledge page URL makes it easy to notify family, friends, neighbors and businesses by sharing your student's URL link. Imagine: if 5 people donated $10 (tax-deductible) then each student would reach their goal!
📝DONATIONS ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE. Jagathon is sponsored by Folsom Middle School Parent Teacher Organization- a registered 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization. Federal Tax ID 68-0187183. Please share this tax-deductible Federal Tax ID so they can use it as well. This event helps you and all who donate to your student's fundraising efforts reinvest your tax dollars in your student's education.
JAGATHON is our school's largest- and most important- Annual School Community Giving Campaign. Administrators, Teachers, Staff, and Parents work together to guide and encourage students to do their best! 🐾 Will you help them achieve their goal? Your donation directly impacts our 1,300+ students and over 100 staff members for the entire 2021-22 school year!
😷 SAFETY of our Jaguars is our highest priority. For the safety of our students and staff, our Jagathon has been modified to take place throughout the school day in smaller groups, outdoors, applying all appropriate health and safety precautions.
🌈You will be receiving more information via email this week. You can also find out more on our website. Our link is on the Folsom Middle School website face page. If the have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at president.fmspto@gmail.com
💛THANK YOU! On behalf of all our Jaguar Students, Administrators, Teachers, Staff, PTO Members and Parent Volunteers, please accept our warm gratitude for your generous support!
Dear Parents,
We know that by now you have heard about the recent Tik Tok issues that we, and other schools across the country, have been dealing with. These issues are quite serious. The district sent out an email regarding the ‘Devious Lick’ Challenge. If you are not aware, here is an article to look at covered by the New York Times.
Unfortunately, Folsom Middle School has not been exempted from experiencing the students behaving in this disrespectful manner. We are asking that you please speak with your child about the seriousness of these behaviors and how this will result in consequences through Folsom Police Department if they are found to be participating in these acts.
Also, we are experiencing a higher level of disrespect this school year from the students toward adults on campus. We know that after being off campus for 18 months students may have to readjust to the school setting and to expectations on how we must treat each other in order to keep the school safe, both physically and emotionally. We would appreciate parents helping to support your child and the staff by having serious conversations about acceptable behavior expectations.
We are here to work together to help the students be successful. Revisiting proper actions of respect, both to adults and their peers, would be greatly appreciated. We know middle school is a time where students are pushing their boundaries, but we are realizing that their being away from the school setting over the past several months has created an opportunity for them to have not had to practice these skills.
Thank you for your help with this as we all work together to guide them through these transitional years in preparation for high school. Again, our goal is to work in partnership with you, to help our students develop into successful individuals as they prepare for the next phase of their educational journey.
As always if you have any concerns, questions, or feedback we welcome your communication. Please feel free to reach out to me, Mr. Bose, or Mr. Acosta at any time. We are here to support you and your child.
Have a wonderful week.
Dr. Terri Daniels
TEACH DIFFERENT
Did you get a chance to check out the Teach Different information for parents posted in the last two editions of the BLAST? Were you interested in having access to the app? If so, please email Dr. Daniels at tdaniels@fcusd.org The school has been given a discount for this option for parents at FMS. This is a strategy that can help your child have conversations that can support them in critical thinking skills that they are required to develop as they move through the secondary California State Standards in preparation for college. Early Dismissal & Late Arrival
Early Dismissal
- Please send in a note with your student explaining the reason for dismissal and what time you will be picking him/her up. When the student arrives to school, have them come to front office with note to collect the pass.
- Your Student will then be given a yellow slip/pass to leave class at that specific time, which the staff at FMS is familiar with.
- You will then meet your student in the front office.
Late Arrival
All students should come through the front office to collect a pass to go to class. If it's an excused absence, please include a note from the parent or a doctor's note. You do not need to accompany your student into the front office as long as he/she has a note.
Thank you for accommodating this request. We have these procedures to ensure the safety of your children at school.

A Website to Promote Student Mental Health and Self Esteem Building
Kendall Skratt is a former student at Folsom Middle School who now attends Folsom Lake College. For the past two and a half months, she has been working on a Gold Award project for Girl Scouts.
The project has culminated in this website which she designed to help middle school and early high school students understand and cope with low self-esteem. This project is quite personal for her as she has voiced she has struggled with low self-esteem her whole life and she is eager to aid as many students as she can. Perhaps it is something that can benefit your child or someone else you know.
Thank you, Kendall, for sharing your work with us!
