Red Laser and QR Codes
When your students get their iPads this Winter, there are many fun, creative ways to use them. One way is to create "secret" messages, assignments, or websites with the use of QR codes.
What is a QR Code?
A QR code is a machine-readable code consisting of an array of black and white squares, typically used for storing URLs or other information for reading by the camera on a smartphone. Besides URLs, you can assign directions, images, or even sound to the code depending on which QR code generator you use.
How do QR codes work?
For a teacher who wants to create a QR code to use in their classrooms, they would first need to go to a QR code generator. There are MANY of them out there. Just Google, "QR code generator" and you will find to many to count. I like using this one.
Once a QR code has been created, downloaded and/or printed, students will use the RedLaser app to scan and read the code. The kids love it! It's like magic!
Scan these with your Red Laser app, right off of this screen, to see what I have attached them to...
