High Expectations:
Every Scholar, Every Day
A Word from Principal Haynes
Greetings Parents,
We are in the final push as we close out 2018!! December is always a magical time of the year with so many different emotions and excitement. Nonetheless, please encourage your scholars that EVERY DAY, they need to bring their best to school. Their best dress, their best attitude, their best behavior--their BEST SELF!!
We have some important mid-year assessments coming up in the next few weeks to give us an idea of how our scholars are progressing. It is extremely important that each of them, from Kindergarten to 5th Grade take the assessments seriously and do their best. The information we get will help us to know how to best direct our teaching efforts as we move into 2019.
More importantly, every day counts. Your child's attendance is important--they cannot miss important instruction if we are to become an "A" School!! Please make sure that your scholar is present and on time EVERY DAY!!
Join me in congratulating our very own, Mr. Sheldon Jordan, our Math Coach who is a finalist for the Broward County Public Schools Teacher of the Year!! He will be recognized at the Caliber Awards Celebration in February 2019. We are all rooting for him to WIN!!!
Let's make this another great week of High Expectations--Every Scholar--Every Day!!!
Wishing you an AMAZING and BLESSED week!!

Field Trip Expectations
Field trips are an opportunity for us to provide scholars with exposure to many activities and events throughout the county and state. We want our scholars to participate and field trips are open to ALL scholars. That said, I need YOU in partnership with us to explain to scholars expectations regarding behavior. When teachers take scholars off campus, it is imperative that they know and understand how to LISTEN to adults and are responsible to stay with the group. The last thing I want is for a child to get lost and/or hurt on our watch. Make sure that you have conversations with your child about this.
If your child has been struggling with maintaining appropriate behavior on campus, it MAY become necessary for administration to have a conversation with you about whether or not the field trip is appropriate for your child. If you are in doubt, talk with your child's teacher about their behavior. Field trip payments are non-refundable and I don't want anyone to lose money because of their child's poor choices. Let's partner together to make sure our scholars understand the expectations of field trip participation.
