From the Principal Desk—
Hello Hilltopper Families:
The leaves are turning colors, the temperatures are finally beginning to fall and the night sky is getting darker more quickly each day. Fall is here! Just a few things to keep in mind as the change in seasons is upon us. It’s hard to believe flakes will be falling soon at Park!
We will go outside for recess as long as the wind chill is above 15 degrees! Please be sure to send your student to school with appropriate clothes and outerwear for the weather.
Also, please label your child’s coats, hats, gloves, boots, etc. with your child's name.
Please call the office if your child is absent for any reason. We have a 24 hour attendance line that is checked multiple times a day where you can leave a voicemail letting us know why your child is absent. We will call you at home, work and at any other numbers listed on Infinite Campus if you do not report your child’s absence.
If your child misses school due to illness or an appointment, please bring a doctor's note, or have the doctor's office fax one to us. If your child is excessively absent, absences may be counted as unexcused without appropriate documentation from a doctor's office.
Don’t forget to sign up for parent-teacher conference days on October 24th or November 7th. The link can be found above in this newsletter. Conferences are a fabulous opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher regarding their academic and behavioral progress so far this school year. Conferences are an important component to ensure that the school and home work together to maximize your child’s full potential. I look forward to seeing you next week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Makee
Looking for Veterans to honor at our assembly!
Park School will be having a short assembly honoring our veterans on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 9:45am. We would like to invite parents/relatives of our students who have served in the Armed Forces to attend this program. We would ask veterans to wear their uniforms, if possible. We would like to give each veteran an opportunity to share (1-5 minutes) with our audience their years of service, area of service in the Armed Forces, and what being a veteran means to them.
*Note: We are also asking that our Boy and Girl Scouts wear their uniforms for this day.*
