WHAT DOES MARKETING ENCOMPASS?

Marketing: all things related to promoting and running a business.

One of the many fields of marketing is Shopper Marketing.


Shopper Marketing is all about understanding how one's target consumers behave as

shoppers, in different channels and formats. By researching and gathering this information,

marketers can then use it to the benefit of all stakeholders, defined as brands, consumers,

retailers, and shoppers. Identifying what drives a shopper to purchase and repurchase is the first step to shopper marketing.


A full-time job opportunity related to shopper marketing is the Sales Development Program

(SDP) Associate at Alarm.com, highlighted in Tribe Careers, tribecareers.wm.edu.


  • Provide sales support for our authorized dealers and distributors, develop and execute new sales programs, and collaborate with our Account Executives to increase productivity and sales of Alarm.com products
  • Develop and/or revise products, technical support, sales and marketing documentation, collect troubleshooting data, foster positive and productive relationships with Alarm.com’s dealers, and communicate information vital to the growth of those dealers

This is an online event.

Sponsored by the Cohen Career Center, the W&M Marketing Trip is a 3-day event which

takes place in New York, NY. Approximately 20 William and Mary juniors and seniors will

be introduced to careers in a variety of marketing fields. This trip will help you assess if

this career field is the right one for you and allow you to network with W&M alumni in key

positions. ALL MAJORS ARE INVITED TO APPLY FOR THE Marketing Trip!


PROGRAM FEE:

$250 program fee includes lodging for three nights in New York, NY (February 3, 4, and 5).

Selected participants are required to pay the full program fee by December 14, 2015.

Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify.
