Camp Pioneer Trail
November 2018 Parent Newsletter
Principal's View
Dear Pioneer Trail Families,
Welcome to November! Not sure how we moved so quickly from the first day of school to now, but it has happened! Hope you are feeling good about the school year. It has been a very busy start for sure, but I am so proud of the teachers and staff that are here on a daily basis to help us try our best for your children.
I wanted to share some information that another parent recently shared with me. As a parent of three boys, I totally get the pressure of trying to decide when to get your child a cell phone, if one at all. We are in a very different world than even a few years ago when my boys were elementary/middle school aged. You want them to have the security of it, but with technology also comes a lot of responsibility that kids need to be ready to handle. There is a new campaign out there encouraging parents to "wait until 8th" with the idea to help parents and students avoid the downfalls of having social media in their back pocket before they have the coping skills to handle the inevitable drama that can accompany it. Here is a link for additional information:
https://www.waituntil8th.org/ . Feel free to trash or treasure the information. This parenting job is not an easy gig. I know I always appreciated hearing that we were not alone and that the struggle was real!
As always, I want this school to be everything it can be for your child's learning experience. Working together we can get the job done!
Mr. Salmons
Character Plus
Polite is our character trait for November. Please discuss with your child the importance of showing good manners toward others through speech and actions. :)
P.T.'s New Faces
Hannah Lollman
My name is Hannah Lollman and this is my first year as a teacher. I had the opportunity to do my student teaching at Pioneer Trail last year so I am very familiar with the procedures and routines.
Since I am new, I thought you should know some things about me! I recieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri in 2018. I recently got married to my husband in October. My new name is Mrs. Lollman, but if you see the name Ms. Leslie, it is still me! I recently moved permanently to Jefferson City and am loving it!
I believe in an open line of communication between families and teacher. I cannot wait for this year, and I am so excited for my first year of teaching with these amazing kiddos!

Helpful Hints from the Office
- BBBRRRRRR.....cold weather is approaching. Students will go outside each day that the "feels like" temperature is 20 degrees or above, so please make sure they come to school with their coats, hats, and gloves. Thanks so much!!!
- To ensure the safety of our students, we will always follow the set routine for your child to go home from Pioneer Trail unless we have a note or phone call from you. Please call no later than 2:30 pm.
- If your child will be absent, please notify the office as soon as possible at 632-3400.
- When dropping your child off in the morning, please remain in your vehicle. If you need to exit your vehicle, please pull into a parking space so that the flow of traffic is not disrupted.
- If you are dropping your child off after 8:15, please walk them inside and sign them in.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!!
