Haiti's Water Crisis
What is happening to Haiti and their water problem?
How many people are in this dilemma ?
Haiti is in Carribean. There are 10,461,409 people in Haiti as in 2014. Haiti is a very poor country, 78% of Haitians live on less than 1$ a day. Portable drinking water is available, but about 70% of the population doesn't have access to it and they have to go to garbage filled rivers to supply their household with water for their daily needs. Over 50% of Haitians die because of the diseases like Typhoid, Cholera, and Chronic Diarrhea. public systems are rarely available year round because Haiti is a very poor country and probably can not afford or have the time/people to run it. In 2010 an earthquake happened and that made the water availability in Haiti significantly lower
Garbage-filled rivers
When people didn't have enough money to buy portable water they had to go to rivers that were brown and had garbage in them.
Diseases
Diseases were known in Haiti especially the outbreak of Cholera in October 2010.
Earthquakes
the big earthquake happened in 2010. Everything was destroyed and thousands of people died.
