Read, analyzed and were inspired by some incredible poetry by Robert Frost and William Carlos Williams.
We wrote some AMAZING poetry! (So Much Depends..., Haiku, and Cinquain)
We conducted two experiments learning about density and the properties of ocean water.
We learned about ocean currents and what makes the water move-you would be surprised!
We welcomed new class pets.
We learned how to use three new apps-Adobe Voice, Adobe Slate and See Saw (a digital portfolio that we will share with you at conferences)
Ended a great week of learning with a reading campout.

Fun Learning This Week...
Reading-We will be heading back to our Journeys text and reading a wonderful excerpt from The Black Stallion. We will be focusing on the strategy of visualization (picturing the text in our heads like a movie playing) and monitoring our understanding as we read.
Writing-We will continue to write poetry, but this week will focus on tying in figurative language such as similes, metaphors, personification and hyperbole. We will be writing lyrical poetry, Limericks, and will play around with color poems.
Science-We will continue with our ocean unit. We will be doing an activity that ties in both reading and math involving plotting out the ocean floor. We will also be learning more about ocean movement, currents, and tides. We have one more experiment this week involving salt water and fresh water.
Spelling-List 17. The spelling test will be on Thursday.
