ADVENT
The season of Advent, and with it a new liturgical year, begins Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022. For Christians, the season of Advent is not simply about the "coming" of a holiday, but more precisely the coming of Jesus Christ. Advent is a season of preparation.
We prepare our hearts for Christ, who "comes" to us in three ways.
1. Historically. Christ came into our world in a time and place many years ago.
2. Presently. Christ comes into our hearts today and every day.
3. Finally. In due time Christ will come again.
Let us take time in this beautiful season to prepare our hearts for Christ, who seeks to be with us always; past, present, and future.

How to Prevent Feeling Overwhelmed
An overwhelmed feeling can be really hard to deal with. As parents, we don't need to hide uncomfortable emotions. Instead, we need to model how we manage our frustrations to prevent them from building up.
This week, Big Life Journal uses “The Tolerance Cup Analogy” to encourage your child to build their toolbox of stress-relieving strategies so that they can manage frustrations in a healthy way.
Show this to your child and try demonstrating it with an actual cup as a visual. Model and practice how you manage your uncomfortable emotions too - we can all use a little calm in our lives!
