#MalariaMonth
Nets for child beggars in Senegal
Event Information
Help Child Beggars Stay Safe from Mosquitos
As talibés live in their schoolhouses (daaras), they often sleep piled on top of one another with one adult per large group of children. In Senegal Malaria is a common disease that leads to 14% of child deaths. Voices of Talibés is raising money to purchase and donate mosquito nets to several different daaras in Dakar, Senegal. We believe this will help combat the neglect of these children’s wellbeing.
We ask that you donate anything you can or share this flyer. Thank you.

About our Foundation
Voices of Talibés Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization with a mission to spread awareness about the issue of child trafficking in Senegal, improve the living conditions of neglected children, advocate for the rights of street children in Senegal, and establish shelters where children who have become victims in the Talibe system may seek refuge, safety, and proper education in agreeable living conditions. It was created to target the unintended effects of the Talibe system- illiteracy, child abuse, and neglect. They do this through a three-pronged approach that includes advocacy for these children’s rights, caring for them, and educating the public on their living conditions and daily hardships.
