Blake Presents "Company"
Known for its expertise in music and theater, Blake High School's Stage Company is performing a rendition of the musical "Company" for its fall production, as summarized below:
On the night of his 35th birthday, confirmed bachelor Robert contemplates his unmarried state. Over the course of a series of dinners, drinks and even a wedding, his friends explain the pros and cons of taking on a spouse; the habitually single Robert is forced to question his adamant retention of bachelorhood. Stephen Sondheim's "Company" is largely regarded as a trailblazer of the dark-comedy, modern-musical genre, and features a brilliantly brisk and energetic score containing many of the composer's best-known songs.
Remaining productions of "Company " are on November 21, 22 and 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Blake. There is also a matinee on the 16th at 2:00 p.m, in addition to the evening show on the 16th. Tickets will be available at the door or at tinyurl.com/blaketix. Discounted rates are available for groups of 20 or more. Students can get discounted tickets for the November 21st production. (Only $5.00)
Come and support your talented neighborhood actors and singers in this fast-paced, comedic show that features beautiful music and relevant topics for today!
