Updated Extended Closure Staff To-Dos
New items are BOLDED.
Be available Monday through Friday to families from 9:00-2:00, by phone, text, email.
1. Check in with all of your students. This can be through Google Classroom, Seesaw, or by making phone calls. The key is to keep in touch with students! If a student is not doing any work on iReady, Seesaw, Google Classroom, etc... and you are in contact with parents, great! If you cannot reach parents after multiple attempts, please let me know! I will check on them!
2. Plan for week 4 and beyond using the learning templates provided to you in an email on Thursday, April 2.
Add all that you can with electronic links. Anything you link or plan then must be included in a paper packet version for those families who wanted paper work sent home.
Week 7 - May 11 -May 15 - to be ready in the office by Wednesday, May 6
Week 8 - May 18-May 22 - to be ready in the office by Wednesday, May 13
Week 9 - May 25- May 28 - to be ready in the office by Wednesday, May 20
Each packet will be mailed separately, if that is how the parents chose to get their work.
Your learning templates MUST be posted to your website for each week. If you need help, please reach out to myself, Nikki, or Jen!
Pictures below for where to have materials ready. Please follow the mailing guidelines sent out earlier this week. Valerie has posted them in the workroom as well.
3. Check iReady minutes/lessons passed. If families have not gotten on at this point, is it a technology issue? Reshare usernames/passwords if they need and offer assistance. You can assign lessons, or shut off domains depending on what you want your students working on. Need help? Check with Nikki!
4. Participate in a digital meeting with your grade level team, hosted by Nikki and Elizabeth. Invites have been shared out (this will be ONE time each week during the closure). If you can't make it to your meeting, please attend an alternate time.
5. All classroom teachers are to host a digital class meeting with your class at least once a week using Google Hangout. Non-classroom teachers will be assigned one-two classrooms to join in on their virtual class meeting. We need to keep our kids connected and ensure that they are safe!
6. All certified staff, work on your order for the 2020-2021 school year. Budget should not exceed $300 per certified staff. Valerie sent specific ordering guidelines/information last week. Please read that email carefully. Orders due to Valerie by May 1.
7. Professional Growth Plans need to be finished up for the school year. You might not have the data you wanted/needed to finish up. Write a reflection with the data you do have (GRL, iReady, etc...). Save and submit. We will have virtual meetings to complete the process.
8. Work with your team to create a separation list (or keep together). Email suggestions to Elizabeth. I will create draft lists and then get feedback from teams for later in May.
9. Student materials - start thinking about your plan to pack them up. Bags are being donated and should be at school this week sometime. Student pencils boxes, folders, binders, notebooks, and workbooks can/should be bagged up and tagged with student name. Place in your class line spot in the gym (think assemblies/morning gym). Think about student book boxes and getting book room books back to the correct places.
10. End of Year Checkout Form - includes links for Student Information Sheet, Grade Level Inventory Sheet, and K-5 Building Purchased Resource Sheet.
*** IEP Meetings will be scheduled. Teachers of those students will be required participants. Meetings will be conducted remotely, through Zoom, Google Hangout, etc...

Google Meet Shortcut Tutorial Click here to see the document shared with you this week to set up a more secure way to host Google Meets with your students.
Please add your nickname to the Google Meet Calendar shared with you this week during team Meets so that your “extra” adult can join easily.
I have added myself and my Google Meet nickname to the calendar every M-W-F from 11:30-12:00 for office hours. This can be Q&A, help, brainstorming or companionship! Of course you don’t have to wait for this time to contact me if you need help. I’d be more than happy to connect with you!

Literacy Footprint Digital Readers: These are all the Pioneer Valley books your students are used to reading for free!!
Sign up for your free digital readers account through Pioneer Valley.
Log in through the Digital Reader link at the top of the literacyfootprints.com.
Invite all your students in your class to subscribe.
Your students will now be able to join your digital classroom.
You can assign books for your students to read on their level. When the student finishes reading, it will be added to their book bag.
If you have a student served by Lisa Propst, she is assigning students books through this program. Please check with her before assigning to Title 1 students.
This will be especially important for when we are cleaning up/out classrooms.
Working in the Building
Please sign up to work in the building in shifts. I have scheduled it so that no more than 7 people (including custodial staff) will be in the building at the same time. Please follow the guidelines so we can all stay safe:
1. Please use hand sanitizer before using any office or workroom equipment.
2. After using the copier or other equipment, please wipe the machine/ equipment off using the wipes provided next to the copier.
3. If you see someone else using the copier, please come back in a few minutes. Ask the person to text you when they are done.
4. Work in your own space! Many people have been using the office to assemble packets. Please take materials back to your space and then bring them back to the office when you are finished.
5. Try to follow the CDC recommendation of 6 feet while in the building. Avoid contact. WHILE MANY OF US ARE HUGGERS, avoid the HUG:)
