A noble gas element


Helium is a chemical element with symbol He and atomic number 2. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, inert, monotonic gas that heads the noble gas group in the periodic table.Helium was first discovered on the sun first before it was found on earth. It was founded by Pierre Jansen & Norman Locker. Pierre noticed a yellow line in the sun’s spectrum while study a total solar eclipse in 1868.

  1. Helium gets its name from 'Helios', the Greek word for the sun. Helios was the god of the sun. Since Pierre found helium in the sun's spectrum.
  2. On October 15, 2009, a couple hailing from Colorado hid their six-year-old son in the home's attic and raised alarm alleging that he had flown into the atmosphere inside a flying saucer-shaped helium balloon, sending the authorities and media into a tizzy.
