Spring Is Here!

Happy Spring Everyone!

I cannot believe that spring break is just about here. It seems like just yesterday I was meeting my class for the first time! It's amazing how time flies!

Here are some quick updates about what's going on for the next few weeks.

Spring Break: Starts AFTER school on Friday, 3/29 and we return to school on Monday, 4/8. I hope that everyone has a safe and relaxing spring break. :)

CRCT: Wednesday, 4/10 through Wednesday, 4/17. The schedule for the CRCT is as follows:

Wednesday, 4/10 - Reading

Thursday, 4/11 - English / Language Arts

Friday, 4/12 - Make-up Testing

Monday, 4/15 - Math

Tuesday, 4/16 - Science

Wednesday, 4/17 - Social Studies

Thursday and Friday will be make up testing.

There will be no homework during the week of CRCT, but please make sure that your child gets a good night's rest during all of testing. Also, please reassure your child that they just need to do the best they can during the test. I know that this time can be VERY stressful for everyone, so we need to make sure that we make a warm, welcoming, and encouraging environment with minimal stress for our students to succeed.

I will be sending home a general CRCT review packet for spring break. It is optional to complete it. I have also been posting math games and various CRCT websites to the wiki. Please be sure to visit.

Homework: I have changed my homework policy. Homework is now due the following day unless I have a note from an adult explaining why the homework was not completed.

Blog: We are still blogging! I have reminded all students that they need to be blogging, and I made sure that all students had their username and password for the class blog. The website is www.kidblog.org/msgarris3rdgrade.

Behavior: With this time of year comes Spring Fever, so it is imperative that we work as a team to keep the behavior positive. I will be reviewing my class expectations, rights, and responsibilities daily!

I think that's it for now. Thank you for all that you do to ensure your child's continued learning!

-Best Regards

Ms. Garris, Nerfy, and Harry
