Principal's Message
- Make sure you review your child's homework each evening. If you have questions, do not hesitate to send your child's teacher a note.
- Make sure your child has a quiet place to complete his/her homework.
- Make sure children get plenty of rest each evening. Eight to ten hours per night is recommended for elementary school students.
- Make sure your child attends school regularly and arrives on time each day.
- Make sure your child wears appropriate shoes to school each day, preferably tennis shoes or shoes appropriate for the playground.
- Attend parent conferences, PTA, and curriculum night to help keep you informed.

We are focusing on all three throughout the building, however, independence is what we are striving for this month. Students are encouraged to walk to class by themselves to carry their own backpack. Thanks for your assistance!

Medications at School
Medication, both prescription and over the counter, cannot be dispensed to students unless it is provided to the school by the parent in its original container and a Permission to Give Medication Form is completed by both parent and physician. Medications must remain in the main office. When a student needs to take their medication, they are to report to the main
office to receive it. At the end of the school year, all medication must be picked up or it will be discarded.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact our school nurse - Krista S. Lawson, RN, BSN at 336-703-4224 or kslawson@wsfcs.k12.nc.us.

PTA Membership
Thank you to all who have become LES PTA members this school year. When you become a member you are helping to support your staff, students and community. There is still time to become a member. You can download a form (link is below) and turn it in to your child’s teacher. The first class to have 100% participation will receive a prize. So, help your child’s class and teacher this school year. Become a member.
Thank you...
Your LES PTA is successful because of volunteers (YOU)! This month we’d like to send out some extra special thanks to the volunteers who brought in items for an awesome trail mix bar for our teachers. The tasty goodness was heard throughout the school. Thank you to Tracy Connor and her family for the outstanding image shared on the Spirit Rock. Our school is also showing signs of fall thanks to Good Deeds Insurance in Lewisville. The are helping to beautify our front landscape with beautiful fall colors. Thank you to all who were able to come out and “Read Under the Stars” with us after our first general PTA meeting in September. It was truly an enjoyable evening.
All merchandise that was ordered at Open House or within the first week of school has been delivered. If you did not receive your merchandise, please contact PTA. We will try to create another order sometime in November so that items will be back by Winter Break.
Charleston Wrap Fundraiser!
Our first fundraiser is off and running! Please refer to Peachjar or our LES PTA Face Book with more information. If you need more forms, they can be found in the office. If you do not wish to participate in this fundraiser, simply returned the packet sent home in last weeks Tuesday Packets from your teacher.
