Girl Scouts Yarn Collection
Hi Linden Friends!
My name is Carrie Cole, and my daughter, Lucia Cole, is in 5th grade at Linden. Lucia’s grandmother was an avid volunteer and advocate for Abington Hospice for many, many years. She ran bake sales, volunteered, participated in fundraisers, and made blankets for patients. All patients admitted to their hospice program (both in-patient and outpatient), receive a homemade crocheted blanket.
In honor of Lucia’s grandmothers' memory, last year, her Girl Scout troop created and ran a large fundraiser. Their mission was simple. Collect as much yarn as possible to donate to Abington hospice in memory of their troop leader, so the remaining volunteers can continue to crochet blankets. And in only a few weeks, they collected 28 large black trash bags full of yarn.
And this year, we are back at it! Please consider donating yarn and spreading the word, so we can give every hospice patient a homemade blanket. Donations will be accepted through 3/6/23.
*Venmo also accepted. All monetary donations will be donated to Abington Hospice.”

The 3K Race on Sunday, May 21 at Doylestown Central Park is open to all elementary school children, not just those who participate in our after school running programs, so this would be a great way to get the word out to all the children. Attached is the race registration announcement and below is the link to register online.

Health Office Guidelines
The school nurse provides care to students who become ill or injured at school. If a child has symptoms of illness present, the child should remain home in order that other children do not become infected. As a rule of thumb, a child should be without a fever for 24 hours, without medication, before returning to school. Sick children should never be sent to school with the expectation that the school nurse can be called upon to diagnose a medical problem. If your child becomes sick at home or is injured at home or at a sporting event outside of school hours, please do not ask the child to come to the school nurse for treatment.
Please be mindful that if the student is ill and comes to school, the student could infect other students in the school. Also, your child could contract another illness because of a stressed immune system in addition to communicable diseases, Central Bucks reserves the right to exclude students for the following reasons:
Central Bucks also reserves the right to exclude children from school based on the following criteria:

- -Diarrhea or vomiting during the previous 24 hours. Student may not return to school until appetite returns to normal.

Central Bucks Farmers Market
Dear Linden Community,
Any Central Bucks family who may need a little extra food assistance is welcome to join us at Barclay Elementary School. Our drive-up food distribution runs from 4:30 to 5:30 PM on Thursday, February 23rd. We generally have free dry goods, fresh produce, milk, eggs, and bread, and often have some frozen meat and poultry. As a reminder, we are a completely volunteer run organization committed to ending childhood hunger in Central Bucks. To that end, we kindly ask that you follow the rules outlined below, so that we can continue to do our work, while maintaining positive relationships with our neighbors. Please be courteous and kind--those who break the rules put our future efforts to support children in jeopardy!
- Do not line up anywhere on Palomino Drive before 4:30, so as not to interfere with our student dismissal.
- All traffic for the market is one way on Palomino Drive. Guests are not permitted to turn around in our neighbors' driveways. If you do, you will be asked to leave. Therefore, you should either access Palomino Drive where it intersects with Valley Drive, or you should access Palomino from one of the side streets with which it intersects.
- When you leave the market, all traffic must turn right onto Palomino Drive from Barclay's driveway. See our map at the link below.
- Additionally, as we have asked many times in the past, please do not block our neighbors' driveways. If the line starts moving, you should not pull forward unless you are certain you have enough room.
- Anyone who continually breaks the rules outlined above will be barred from all future markets.
The Central Bucks East Patriot Players are working hard preparing for their spring musical. We are celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the show's Broadway debut & the 30th Anniversary performance for the Patriot Players. Just checking in to ensure you are ok with having Oklahoma! signs set up by the road, at your respective buildings. Patriot Players will place boards neatly on a grassy area near the street or near the school parking lot entrance by Feb 4 and remove no later than Sunday, Apr 2.
