Sacred Heart School
Week of January 12
Passion
As I was watching him play the piano and marveling at how talented he is, I thought "how does someone become so talented?" I was reminded of one of my favorite quotes. Julia Child said "find something you're passionate about and stay tremendously interested in it."
Mark sure does. He teaches jazz every day at Duke Ellington School for the Arts and each night, he plays gigs all over the city.
This got me thinking... What are you passionate about?
Are you passionate about teaching? Are you tremendously interested in teaching and learning? What do you do to make room for your passions in your classrooms? How do you keep yourself interested in teaching so you don't get burned out?
If you're looking for some professional development to dive into, to peek your interest, there are several opportunities this week from our Math Coach, Lynn Bunnell's visit, to learning from our peers during Wednesday's PD, to a visit from a Harvard Researcher on Thursday, and culminating with a free PZ event on Thursday at School Within a School.
Great Work!
