Australia is a very wealthy place with an organized government and has a healthy Western-style capitalist economy. However, as you can see by the charts, Australia has much less arable land compared to USA because of one big threat...droughts. The nation is in the throes of its seventh dry year in a row, and many have characterized the terrible "Big Dry" as the worst in Australia's history.

This statistic/graph is relevant because it shows how much more food and surplus US has compared to Australia. It makes you wonder, how is USA so much more wealthy and food-enriched than Australia.
