Letter from Sra. Farias
I spoke to Katie Wednesday. She has a doctor's appt. today and she is recuperating nicely. Hopefully her recovery will continue to be smooth. She asked me to remind you of some expectations for Conferences:
1. Please make sure you have been communicating with your parents about special problems dealing with academics and especially discipline. Parents do not like surprise revelations about their student on the day of conferences. You should be emailing parents with concerns that you may be having so it is not a surprise when you mention it on that day.
2. Katie would like for everyone to have a discipline plan developed in their classroom. How do you monitor behavior? What are consequences for behavior and especially what are rewards for good behavior? It cannot all be consequences and no recognition for good work and good behavior. She would like for you to be ready to share this information at conferences in case parents ask and they will.
Spreadsheet for Responsibility and for Hawks Star Student (good behavior), needs to be completed for Trimester 1 by Wednesday next week. It is on the drive.
Teachers if you are planning on being out 1/2 day for appointments or personal business give us notice by email a few days before your appointment and 10 days is recommended for personal leave. Mrs. Farias, Ms. Dempsey and Kelly need to be copied on your email requesting time away, date and hours you will be out. We also need to know who is covering for you. Thank you!
Lesson plans need to include two Mass days. See below!
